My paper has arrived on the doorstep of editing advice/copywriting. I think that I have refined my argument and made it rather clearly, but it still needs some fine-tuning to make sure that it is expressed in the most effective way possible. Once I am comfortable that it is thorough and yet concise, it is time to move forward to proof-reading.
Proof-reading is next - the fine-toothed comb for mechanics and citations.
Harris would suggest that my writing needs critical readers who can sort out the mechanics and the finer points of the paper with an appropriate level of expertise.
